I still remember it like yesterday. We had set off from school at around 8:00 am, after assembling and hearing the Vice-Principal's speech. After quite a while of walking, we had reached the required destination. But soon enough, at 8:22 am I found myself having strayed away from my class. I searched and searched, but could not find my class at all. At approximately 8:43 am, I found my Form Teacher, who directed me to my group which was already starting to collect. The members of my group were Priya, Shihui, Tiffany and myself. We were, throughout the CIP, with another group which consisted of Huilin, Zheng Ing and Wai Weng. We helped each other throughout the CIP, giving each other ideas as to lessen the average load per person to carry the newspapers. We had, together, collected many newspapers especially from a Malay lady who resided at the 4th floor of the block we were assigned to. We were able to finish our collection of newspapers by 9:40 am and had it somewhat already tied up. A SembCorp truck/van came and almost everybody cheered. But upon realisation that it was just a garbage truck, the people cheered now jeered. Soon enough, at 9:54 am, the real collection van came and we loaded the newspapers into it, with the help of the man in the vehicle. Everybody worked together to put the newspapers inside the truck.Everybody sighed of relief as they watched it drive away. But alas, a bag of newspapers had fallen from the back of the truck. It was so saddening to see such a thing. A student went and took the bag and Our teacher asked him to put it into the rubbish bin. We completed a worksheet and gave it to our teacher, who then marked attendance and praised us for the teamwork we had displayed. We were so quick that we finished the whole CIP in 2 hours. Our teacher had said that even the previous batches had taken 5 hours to complete their CIP. Some of my classmates then bought drinks at a nearby coffeeshop.Soon, we were dismissed from the spot of activity. The Woodlands Regional Library was very nearby, so after the short yet tiring day, I went to the library to write in my journal about the day's experience.
